Scientists are saying it's the biggest outbreak of E coli ever seen. Over 1,000 people have been affected by the virus worldwide and 17 have already died in Germany. There are now reports of the virus infecting 10 people in England and possibly some cases in Spain,Sweden,Switzerland, Denmark, the Netherlands. The source of the virus is still unknown. People are hopeful that this will soon pass as the reports of new cases are slowing however, people are still being urged to wash all vegetables carefully, especially tomatoes, lettuce and cucumbers (the original cause of the outbreak) before eating. Farmers are being compensated for having to let their fresh vegetables rot, resulting in a €200m loss for them.
